Homemade Garden Remedies
Don't spend a fortune on insecticides to keep pests out of your garden.NBC National Correspondent Amy Freeze has some organic homemade remedies that can get rid of bugs and other problems.
RELATED: Non-Chemical Pest ControlFor instance, milk can be used to prevent black spot disease and mildew on your plants' leaves.That's right: milk. Just mix one cup of milk with ten cups of water, and spray. While it may not be quite as effective as chemicals, it's safer for you, your family and any pets in your yard.
RELATED: Watering Your GardenNeed a natural insecticide? Try garlic and hot peppers.Liquefy one garlic bulb and two hot peppers with a half-cup of water. Strain the solids out, then add water to make a half-gallon of concentrate. Use just a quarter-cup of concentrate per gallon of spray.
